reflection on first cornflakes making session
11:24 PM Through cornflakes making, I saw the importance of teamwork. In the beginning, none of us was very sure of the procedure to make the cornflakes. Only Yvonne had some idea how to do it. Hence, all of us figured it out together for the first batch of cornflakes and learnt the whole process of making them before splitting the job among the few of us. In this way, things were more organized, such that each of us contributes and every step has someone handling it. Manpower was wisely utilized, making the whole process of cornflakes making more efficient. I also realized the need to communicate as it allows us to know and understand what is happening at the other steps of cornflakes making. This can help us to make changes to on our part like speeding up so that things can still go on smoothly and not cause a jam. With this, I learnt to be flexible too. When somewhere seems to be lack of manpower or when I am done with what I have, I can move to the other parts of the manufacturing process to help speed up that process. Making the cornflakes taught me to be patient too. Some processes need time to be done like allowing the chocolate to harden. We have to keep to the time needed and not cut corner, moving on to the next step before they harden. They will not turn out as well if we attempt to take the short cut. Therefore, I have to wait patiently for them to be done to ensure the quality of the cornflakes. Lastly, the whole process of making the cornflakes definitely brought us closer as we interacted while making the cornflakes. The stronger bonds we share, together with teamwork, flexibility and patience, will allow us to work more efficiently and effectively in Yunnan. -adeline Labels: adeline's reflection on the first cornflakes making session |
